Looks like an awesome day… (Taken with instagram)
It’s the EuroGamer Expo this weekend and some of the RCC/FFJ lads are meeting up for the first time, it should be good - We will also be meeting up with some of the the lovley peeps from midlifegamer.net for a few drinkies.
For those that can’t make I’ll live blog here during the day….
I’m still running which is a good thing, although the day after my first run I played football with work and managed to put my back out! That meant I couldn’t run for a few days.
For the past week I have been on Holiday at the in-laws which is right by the beach. I managed 2 runs last week, the first was 3.5km and the 2nd was 2.9km. The first one was nice as I got to run from Marske to Saltburn along the beach.
I’ve been a bit slack and haven’t had a run since last Thursday, but I have used the miCoach software to set up a 10k race plan so I have something to aim for each time I go running. It gives me a run to complete every Monday Wednesday and friday so it will be intresting to see how I get on….
New Gear…
I now own some lovely running shorts and a bright yellow running shirt too, (hopefully people will see me coming) I was going to spend £80 on some new running trainers but have decided that my current ones are still in good condition so I can save that money.
I’m just back from my first lunchtime run - And I’m alive which is obviously a good thing :)
This was a bit of test my route + tech run really but I still made as much effort as possible and it eneded up being two runs.
Run 1

Considering I’m in Central London this is quite a good start to my route as it is fairly quiet, you get a little bit stuck at Euston Square but I’ll refine where I go so that I get across the road a bit quicker. Apart from that it was plaing sailing and I felt ok at the end.
Run 2

The Adidas miCoach software allows you to do an assesment run over 12 minutes which I had noticed at first so I decided to try that on my way back. I got caught in a bit too much traffic so although I completed the assesment it would upload it to their website beacuse I wasn’t getting faster, next time I’ll go into Regents Park and do it there.
adidas miCoach
The software seems good so far, the GPS is a little bit flaky but it catches up fairly quickly and updates your distance when its gets the signal back. I need to check the website to what happens on there before I comment anymore though.
I’m pleased I got the first one out of the way and I’m looking forward to my next one which might be friday. I play football with work tomorrow so I’ll see….
I got my iPhone replaced today, essentially my old one was just being a bitch….
But that’s not the point of this post really, though it has something to do with the iPhone. I’ve installed a new app today called miCoach, it’s Addidas’ workout software that connects to their website so you can monitor everything. I used to run, but ever since little Max has been around I’ve been too lazy to do anything. The fact that I can monitor what I do and see all the stats means I should be more encouraged to push myself. Hopefull the Addidas software will prove to be useful, if not I’m going to try the offical Nike iPhone kit instead.
I’ve set out a route for tomorrow luchtime (because I won’t do anything when I get home) as a test and I’m going to blog a bit more about my running and I’ll see how things go from there…
Wish me luck.
I got a comment on my Flickr stream the other day, I had totally forgotten I had an account. I still take photos of Max but time has been against to get any new photos online. I’ve lost interest with it over the last few months but I vow to start using my camera again…

I can’t believe Max is 2 in just over a month, he is a great little lad and despite a bit of the terrible twos kicking in we both know we are really lucky….
So we are up North for a Long Weekend, hoepfully the weather will stay nice so that we can take a certain young Max to the beach.
We spent the morning at his Great Aunt’s and the afternoon in Redcar where both Mummy and Max got new shoes! Max also had his first Lemon Top as well as a few goes on the Bob the Builder ride in the amusements.
We are off out to the beach tonight, hopefully and no doubt Fish and Chips will be on the cards. Might try and get a few pictures taken too….
I’ve had my PS3 for nearly two months so I thought I would put down some more thoughts…
As expected it’s become more of an entertainment system, I’ve made loads of use of playTV and little Max already knows where to put his DVD’s! The Playstation Store is a complete mess, but at least there was a decent amount of movies and renting them was a breeze.
I’ve also had a play around with setting up a media server through my PC and I was impressed how much easier it was than on the xBox, for a start you don’t need extra kit to get the wireless going.
On the gaming side there has only been one game to get my full attention so far, Heavy Rain. What a great game that is, it won’t be everyones cup of tea as it can be quite slow paced but I’m having great fun with it and looking forward to see how the story develops.
I’m definitely enjoying having the PS3 in my console collection
Every now and then I find I have too many games to play, now is one of those times. I’ve never been a one game person as I like to mix things up and that’s probably the reason as to why I have this huge build up of games:
Plus probably 5 others that I can’t remember! Even worse is that’s only my 360. My Brother-in-law came over with 4 sealed PS3 games so now I have:
Phew! if only someone could invent pausing time like in Blinx the cat…,
